Hyperspectral system for integrated geophysical applications

sistemaspettraleDuration: 2011 – 2015

Country: Italy

Partner: CGIAM, Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (DIMEC – UNIMORE)

Lead Partner: INGV

Budget: € 390.000,00

Summary:

The project was carried out within the application: “Territory monitoring to support the management of natural and man-made risk”

Objective:

The project has the following objectives:

  1. To improve the scientific understanding of some natural events such as volcanic eruptions, tectonic activity and fires;
  2. To develop innovative techniques aimed at optimizing the capabilities of a hyperspectral camera and the geometric features of a panchromatic camera. The obtained results will demonstrate the algorithms applicability and the procedures for the generation of thematic products in the field of geophysical observations.
  3. To support the ASI’s management team for all the scientific issues related to the design and development of “PRISMA” mission.
